Braille Digital Art Museum

Himeji Honmachi CD District Urban Redevelopment Project

Final renderings of the museum (large-scale complex).

“Located within Himeji Castle, a World Heritage Site and National Treasure.”

In the Honmachi CD District of Himeji Castle, a World Heritage Site and National Treasure, we are planning to construct the world’s first large-scale complex to house a “Braille Digital Art Museum.”

A new landmark for Himeji.

The Honmachi CD District has played a vital role for many people as a place where Himeji’s history and culture thrive. This area will soon be home to a new large-scale complex that will serve as a hub for culture and exchange.

Our vision goes beyond a simple museum. Through an innovative art experience that fuses Braille and digital technology, we aim to create an open space where people with and without visual impairments—and people from all over the world—can share moments of inspiration together.

We also plan to develop a large-scale complex that includes a top-tier hotel, ensuring a comfortable experience for both domestic and international visitors, positioning it as a new landmark for the globally diverse city of Himeji. The total floor area is expected to be a magnificent scale, exceeding 33,000 square meters.

We are confident that this large-scale complex museum will expand the possibilities of Braille digital art and create opportunities for diverse people to engage with art, thereby contributing to the realization of a richer and more inclusive society.
