🌸点字デジタルアート研究所Braille Digital Art Research Institute.🌸

Summary:
We are building a system to train Braille Digital Art creators, welcoming not only the visually impaired but also sighted individuals. We believe this approach, which incorporates existing digital technology, art research, and literary studies, will be highly effective in fostering diverse perspectives and mutual understanding.
Expected Outcomes:
Stimulating Creativity:
The intersection of knowledge and experience from different fields can stimulate participants’ creativity, leading to the birth of new ideas.
Fusion of Diverse Perspectives:
When sighted and visually impaired individuals learn together, there’s a possibility for new ideas and expressions in Braille Digital Art that haven’t existed before. Combining the visual knowledge and skills of sighted people with the tactile and auditory senses of the visually impaired can lead to richer, more expansive forms of expression.
Mutual Understanding of Technology and Sensitivity:
By incorporating not only digital skills but also concepts from traditional painting and literary arts, participants can expand their expressive range. Learning to create art without relying on visual information will be a new discovery for sighted individuals as well.
Realizing an Inclusive Society:
A space where sighted and visually impaired people learn and create together can deepen mutual understanding and advance social accessibility. Working side-by-side can increase awareness of disabilities, contributing to the creation of a more inclusive society.
Multifaceted Talent Development:
By cultivating skills not just in digital technology but also in foundational art concepts and verbal expression, we can nurture more versatile talent. This will create individuals who can not only produce Braille Digital Art but also thrive in various related fields.
※inclusive means “encompassing,” “comprehensive,” or “all-encompassing.” It’s a term used in fields like social policy, education, and sports.
🌸List of Research Projects🌸
1.Digital Art Production
Braille Digital Art Production:
Students will learn how to operate basic digital tools, utilize Braille displays and haptic devices for artistic expression, and make use of audio feedback.
2.Elements from Existing Art Studios
Elements from Existing Art Studios:
This institute, located within the Braille Digital Art Institute, focuses on the study of traditional painting, primarily for sighted individuals. At the same time, it incorporates some of the concepts of Braille digital art to explore new forms of expression that distinguish it from existing art forms.
3.Elements from Existing Art Studios
Elements from Existing Art Studios:
Combining en plein air (outdoor) painting with Braille Digital Art will provide an opportunity to gain new perspectives, deeper powers of observation, and unique forms of expression not found in traditional art studies. This isn’t just a place for outdoor creation; it has the potential to become an experimental community that explores new possibilities in art.
4.The Study of Language (Haiku Gatherings)
言葉による表現力:
Creating short-form poetry, such as tanka or haiku, helps to develop the ability to express rich emotions and scenes with a limited number of words. This skill is also useful for creating concepts and descriptions for digital art pieces.
5.Elements of Food and Synesthesia
Elements of Food and Synesthesia
The “Tentaku Gastronomy Art Lab” is a unique group that merges two distinct fields: Braille Digital Art and gastronomy.
