🌸点字デジタルアートハウス 邂逅堂 KAIKODO🌸Kaikodo: The Braille Digital Art House🌸

Braille Digital Art House Kaikodo
The Braille Digital Art House Kaikodo aims to be the world’s first museum specializing in Braille digital art that is directly linked to the restoration and preservation of a traditional Japanese kominka (old folk house). In a time of declining populations, we hope Braille digital art can serve as a guidepost for regional revitalization.
Currently undergoing restoration, primarily by volunteers.
Within the art house, we plan to establish an exhibition space, a library and music area, a cafe-restaurant, and lodging. The restoration work is progressing, thanks to a large number of volunteers, mainly high school and university students.
Everything they see, hear, grab, and touch is a new experience for them. Though their steps may be uncertain, they are working hard, one step at a time, toward their goal. Almost all of these volunteers will also participate as Braille Digital Art volunteers, which we are very grateful for. We are confident they will discover something meaningful through this experience.

looking for volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers for the kominka (old folk house) restoration project.
There are also opportunities for other volunteer activities, such as looking out for the elderly in the community and helping with agricultural work.

The World’s First! Collaboration with the Braille Digital Art Museum (Himeji Honmachi CD District Redevelopment)
Similarly, we will collaborate with the Braille Digital Museum Collective, a concept for the world’s first large-scale multi-purpose facility to be built as part of the Himeji Honmachi CD District Redevelopment project.
